About the competition

 

The Australian Marmalade Awards celebrates the nation's most outstanding marmalade creations.

The Artisan competition is open to small-scale professional producers of marmalade using the 'open pan' method.

Participants may wish to submit entries into one or more of the 5 categories.

Timeline:

Entries open: 7 August 2020

Entries close: Friday 25 September 2020

Judging: October (details to be announced)

Award presentations: Sunday 1 November (at the Australian Festival of Marmalade)

 

Artisan competition categories:

1. Seville orange

2. Any citrus

3. Marmalade with a twist

4. Dark & chunky

5. Savoury marmalade

How to enter:

1. You can enter by completing the form below and paying online.
(Alternatively, you can submit your entry form by post or email. Download the form here).

2. Create your marmalade.

3. Send in your jars of marmalade, by mail or hand delivery, to:

Office opening hours: Tuesday - Friday, 9am - 4pm.

Entry instructions:

For each category you are entering, please submit 2 jars of marmalade:

JAR 1 – Sealed jar for public tasting

JAR 2 – Sealed jar for judging, without company branding, but with a plain label with the name of the marmalade, the category being entered and a list of ingredients.

Please also include your name and contact details with your submission (e.g. a business card)

Entry fee:

The competition fee is $20 per category for the Artisan division.

You are welcome to enter multiple categories.

Bronze, silver, gold and double-gold will be awarded by the judges.
